Glen Major Forest Hike

CUHKAAO Hiking Group

The Glen Major Forest is the venue for the second hike of 2015. Our hiking group hiked in this forest once before in 2009. Glen Major Forest is an extensive forested area situated on the high grounds of the Oak Ridges Moraine.  The unpaved trail winds through meadows as well as young and old forests. It is a very interesting hike. However, the trail could be muddy and slippery when wet. There are several rugged uphill and downhill sections which are quite physically challenging and demanding. For safety reasons, a walking stick is highly recommended for this hike. Poison Ivy is common along trail edges. For your protection, please wear long pants. Insect repellents are also recommended. Please note that there is no washroom facility in the park.

All participants who have not submitted electronically their signed waiver forms to Peter Li at cuaaohiking@gmail.com previously please do so when registering for the current hike. This waiver form will remain valid for all future hiking activities organized by the CUHKAAO hiking group. A blank waiver form can be downloaded from http://www.oaacu.com/index.php
